Creative Composites Group® (CCG®), which gathers the leading manufacturers of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite infrastructural and building products, has expanded its TuffSpan® building materials offering with 8F7™ flanged tube beams. This new profile features an improved design and is the first tubular flanged beam made of FRP available on the market.
These FRP flanged tube beams have increased torsional stability and a market-leading strength-to-weight ratio, delivering reliable performance at a much lower material weight. At 15% less weight than FRP I-beams and 30% less than steel WF-beams, 8F7 beams have greater lateral stability without bracing or sag rods when bearing high loads.

8F7 beams utilize an iso-polyester or vinyl resin system to provide outstanding corrosion protection and is fire-retardant with a flame spread rating of 25 or less. FRP is electrically and thermally non-conductive, meaning that 8F7 beams require no thermal break materials to avoid heat transfer. This can reduce costs during specification and can have significant return on investment by performing sustainably over the service life.
