ICAT Logistics Names Jonathan Stein Global Vice President of Sports and Live Events

PR Newswire

DALLAS, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — ICAT Logistics (ICAT), a specialist in high-value, time-critical freight, today announced Jonathan Stein as Global Vice President of Sports and Live Events, a newly created role focused on expanding ICAT’s presence in broadcast production, live-events and sports.

Jonathan Stein is the Global VP of Sports & Live Events at ICAT Logistics

Stein joins ICAT after 29 years in live broadcast, most recently leading sales for the Specialty Capture division of NEP, one of the world’s largest broadcast services providers.

“I was a client for 29 years, so I’ve heard every excuse when it comes to logistics and the delays that can come with moving time-sensitive goods,” said Stein. “The gear either makes air or it doesn’t, and once it doesn’t, the excuse has no value to anybody. What I want is for every client to feel like they are the only account we have. That sounds like a slogan until you’ve spent three decades noticing its absence.”

Stein began his career at Fletcher Chicago in 1997, where he helped bring to market camera systems that have since become integral to live sports production, including the Above-The-Rim camera systems and high frame rate pylon cameras used for goal-line coverage. He went on to sell those technologies to clients like ESPN, CBS, FOX, NBC, Turner Sports, and many others — where the success of every production depended on equipment arriving at precisely the right place and time.

Broadcast freight operates within some of the most demanding timelines in the live-events industry. A crew building an Above-The-Rim camera, for example, may need court access before practice begins. Miss that window, and the camera angle may not exist for the broadcast—creating potential financial consequences for advertisers, production companies, teams and other stakeholders.

Stein’s first priority at ICAT will be establishing a more proactive communication model for customers, one of the first changes he expects clients to experience.

“Jonathan has worked alongside the industry’s leading networks and production companies throughout his career, and he understands the pressures they face better than anyone,” said Brad Stogner, CEO, ICAT Logistics. “As live production expands across broadcasters and streaming platforms, his experience positions ICAT to meet that growth with the precision and responsiveness our customers expect.”

Live-event logistics has traditionally operated reactively. Stein’s standard is different: customers should hear from ICAT before there is a reason to ask, whether the news is good or bad.

The production market Stein is entering has expanded well beyond traditional broadcast networks. Amazon now carries major NFL and NBA programming, Netflix has expanded into live sports, and streaming platforms increasingly produce live events alongside traditional broadcasters such as CBS, Turner and ESPN. Fragmented rights holders mean more concurrent productions and more situations in which a single delayed shipment can affect an entire production.

Stein’s focus will be helping ICAT build a logistics model around the realities of live production and sport: proactive communication, accountability and an understanding that when the equipment has to be there, “close” isn’t close enough.
